Good morning! I hope you've had a great week. There are a few topics to touch upon today ranging from sports to TV so let's get right on into it.
Regarding sports, let's talk about the Mets. So far, their record is 2-2, but it's the beginning of the season. The offense the first two games wasn't really there, but the last two games they've been hitting and converting those hits to runs, a good thing to see. Matt Harvey's first start to the season was similar to the Matt Harvey we saw before the surgery: 6 IP, 0 ER, 9 K, 1 BB, 4 H. Seeing him healthy and pitching well is something that fans obviously like to see. Niese got a little rattled in the first few innings last night, but then he settled in. The concern most people have right now, especially due to last night's game, is Wilmer Flores at shortstop. He's shown his range, which isn't outstanding, but it won't change, so that's not the main issue. The concern comes with his throws. He made three throws last night that weren't on target to first. All three took Cuddyer off the bag, two were scored an error, one Cuddyer applied the tag to bail him out of his third error of the night. Other than that, he hasn't looked bad at the position. As long as he hits and makes those throws, the issue there would be fixed. It's too early to make a judgement on the team as a whole, that'll come around two months into the season.
I finished catching up on The Walking Dead. Fantastic show. I definitely really enjoy watching it. I, personally, don't think the Season 5 finale was their best finale, but I still really liked it. It was very intense and suspenseful, while at the same time, not as intense as I thought it would end up. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in Season 6, it should definitely be interesting. I think conflicts between Rick's group and the Alexandria group are going to still be existing because of the fact that the people of Alexandria are weak, but we'll see how it plays out. (Side note: I love the unsaid family of Rick, Michonne, Carl, and Judith. It makes me so happy. Daryl Dixon also still stands to be my favorite character.)
Supernatural. Charlie's back the next episode and I love character so I'm exciting to see her again. As for the season, I'm enjoying it. There have obviously been some really great episodes and some not so great, but that comes with every show. I like the fact that the focus is still on removing the Mark of Cain. Personally, I don't know if I believe there is a way to remove it, but it'll be interesting to see what the show comes up with. I actually wrote my own theory here, so feel free to read that. Rowena did mention that there may be some way to remove it, but we have yet to see what that is. The season finale for this season is called 'My Brother's Keeper' and that title pretty much has me worried in itself, but I want to see the promo for it before I make any final guesses.
If you're a superhero fan, I'm sure you've spent your weekend binge-watching Daredevil on Netflix. I'm around halfway through the season, but so far, I'm really enjoying it. It's an awesome show. The fight scenes are so cool to watch because of the fact that Matt Murdock (Daredevil) is blind, so the fight scenes are going to be a little bit different compared to other heroes. He relies on his other senses immensely, particularly smell and sound, in order to know his surroundings. What I found out reading about the show and thought I'd share was something cool about the mask. The mask is made out of a material that basically makes it seem as though it's solid, but the actor or stunt double can see through it. Another thing that stood out to me was that Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, actually took martial arts and does most of his own stunt work, while having a stunt double for the more dangerous stuff and specialized moves, very similar to Stephen Amell in his role as Oliver Queen on Arrow. Whenever an actor or actress takes on the majority of their own stunt work I always love to hear it. It shows how dedicated they are to the role. Overall, from what I've seen, the show is fantastic. I'm sure most who have watched will agree.
That about sums about today's post. I hope you all have a great weekend binge-watching Daredevil, catching up on another show, watching some baseball, or whatever plans you have. Be sure to check back this week for more posts.
