The Candidate
Last week on Arrow, the Green Arrow returned to Star City, Damien Darhk was introduced as the season's villain and tensions remained between Diggle and Oliver. In tonight's episode we were introduced to Curtis Holt, who from the promo for season 4 seemed very likable, and also saw the effects of the Lazarus Pit on Thea. Warning: This post does contain spoilers.
Team Arrow's kicking ass. Felicity wants a codename. And Thea's close to putting an enemy down permanently at some point with how she's fighting. Oh, and Felicity's back as the boss of Palmer Tech and Oliver has given her a fern for her office.
Oliver and Thea's family friend Jessica Danforth wants to run for mayor. That sounds great that someone wants to get the city under control, but the past few mayors have been killed. That wasn't about to change. Shots were being fired and Jessica was taken away with a person who actually was the one going after her. Oliver jumps in, as Oliver, and throws him over the railing, prompting the 'how' questions, to which he simply replies self defense classes. Seems believable. Luckily, she's safe, but the enemy gets away. Maybe running for mayor isn't the best idea, Jessica?
Felcity's first time on the job already puts her in a difficult situation having to fire people to downsize and be able to pay the others. This is how she comes across Curtis Holt, who works in the design department, but also developed this algorithm that was then used to calculate how to downsize, instead of allow people to make more. With this list that he's created, he's also on it, but Felicity figured out another way to do things.
Diggle told Laurel that he has been looking into the Ghosts for two years, but everything has been a dead end.
Oliver's not too happy with how Thea's been acting in the field. She's been... a little intense. A little more aggressive. When Oliver shows her that she could have used different techniques, ones that wouldn't cripple people, she become even more intense and began to go after him. The effects of the Lazarus Pit, which occurred six months ago, are becoming more intense over time. Laurel now also knows of the Lazarus Pit, and there was that little spark of an idea in her eyes. Could she maybe be thinking about using this pit on Sara... hm.
Jessica Danforth's daughter was taken by the man who is being sent after her by Damien Darhk. Damien's not too thrilled about that. The guy may have gotten a few blows to the Green Arrow and Speedy, but Speedy came back and actually hit him with his own electricity stick and ignited him in flames. Oliver hit the water pipe to put it out, but that's what she actually realized what's going on with her. This time she crossed the line. They did save Danforth's daughter, though.
The wig is gone in the flashbacks!!! (Just thought I'd make a quick note of it since no one seems to really like the wig)
Laurel's going to be watching over Thea and she's taking her to Nanda Parbat, while Oliver thinks they're having a spa day. Thea's not the only reason they're going. They're also going to bring Sara with them. Not the most realistic looking corpse, though...
Anarchy is spreading in Star City. Oliver Queen has made the decision to run for mayor. He can be the light for the city, but he can also protect himself. That's how he's going to do things the Green Arrow can't. Is it a good idea? Who knows. I'm sure sure, but I guess we'll find out. And with that, I'll leave this blog post here. Next week should be interesting.
