Supernatural - Episode 200 'Fan Fiction' Recap

I don't think I've mentioned this on the blog, but I've spent the last few weeks catching up on Supernatural. I fell in love with the show from the start, and it is such a fantastic show, so if you don't watch it, I highly recommend you start watching it on Netflix, or whatever website you use to watch shows. In no way have I been watching the show from the very start, but when I tell you how proud I am of them for reaching 200 episodes, it makes me so happy to see such a great show do so well and reach such a milestone. Some shows don't get to even reach 100 episodes, for them to reach 200 is fantastic for them.

[If you haven't caught up yet, here's your warning that there are spoilers ahead.]

I was extremely excited for the 200th episode, Fan Fiction, to air. One thing that I've loved about Supernatural since I've started it is their ability to make the fans part of an episode. Example - the use of the plot about the books to have there be a Supernatural Convention. This episode was meant to be a tribute to the fans, and that's exactly what it was. It respected the fans, it didn't make them seem childish or whiny, it portrayed them exactly how it should have. When I heard that the plot line was going to be a musical episode, recapping important events from Sam and Dean's journey, I was so excited. First, you have a musical episode which is great to begin with, but to make that musical a recap, was great.

The montage of every episode opening up until this point made me so, so happy. I was laughing and loving this episode from the very beginning. Not only did they turn it into a musical, but they also incorporated the ship of Wincest, which honestly, I find odd, as well as the famous ship that most people love, Destiel. Personally, I don't ship Wincest at all, I mean they're brothers. I'm not a big Destiel shipper either, I just love their friendship, although I seriously wouldn't mind if they got together. Sam seemed to be enjoying himself a lot, especially when he was making his own ship names for him and Cas, as well as Dean and Cas.

Dean was completely against the show and his reaction to the things they put in it were so funny. His line about fan fiction where he looked directly into the camera was great, including the tweets following it where he said it was on purpose. Although he didn't believe in the show, he said that they believed in the show, which was the most important part, and he even gave them a little pep speech. His reaction to the girls being Sam!girls instead of Dean girls was great. He was totally jamming along to the songs, though. You know he secretly loved the show.

The Samulet being a part of this episode, and being identified as a symbol of their brotherly love was so important, and Sam hanging it up in the Impala towards the end of the episode was important as well. These were two great little things I loved about the episode.

Everyone worked together to kill the goddess of poets, Calliope, and her scarecrow minion, even the performers in the play, which seemed to get lost in everything else that was going on, but was still great.

The performance of Carry On Wayward Son with the Musical cast turned me into a mess. Not only that, but the cast members remembered Adam, and that made me so happy. It was funny when Dean asked who that was when he came on stage, but I think he didn't realize it was Adam because Adam never earned his way into their family, and that's such a major part of Dean's idea of family. It doesn't just go by blood, it goes by who earns it.

Chuck is alive, which is so great. I was so happy to see him back, and the fact he went to see that show was fantastic.

Supernatural has writers that understand their fans so well, and that's what made this episode so awesome. I couldn't of imagined it to be better. There was absolutely no bad. It was so funny and entertaining. It was amazing from start to finish and if I could rate it more than 5 stars, you bet I would.

Favorite quotes:
"You can't spell subtext without s-e-x." - Musical cast member

Sam: "Casdean?"
Dean: "Shut your face, get in the car."

"GHOST-facers." - Musical cast members

"Aren't you too old to be Sam and Dean?" - Musical cast member

Dean: "I want you to stand as close as you want to and put as much sub in that text as you possibly can."

Calliope: "Supernatural has everything! Life, death, resurrection, redemption. But above all, family."
- This is the show in a nutshell.

"The two of us against the world." - Female Sam
Sam: "What she said."

Congratulations to the entire Supernatural cast, crew, and writers on 200 episodes, here's to a hell of a lot more.
