I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a great New Year.
Unfortunately, along with the holidays this year came a large amount of anon hate being sent to Supernatural fans on Tumblr. Some have tried to take their own life, some have been successful, some are in stable condition, but the fact is, this hate isn't stopping.
The fact that there are people in this world who feel the need to send hate to those who have done nothing wrong to them at any time of the year, let alone the holiday time - a time that is meant to be joyous and fun - is beyond me. How can there be people so cruel?
A reassuring thing is that there are so many people who are open to listening and trying to help the people receiving these disgusting messages. Maybe they've never spoken to them, or even followed them, but they are so willing to talk to someone, send them words of encouragement, in order to help them.
It's so upsetting that we live in a world where this exists. People cowering behind a computer screen, sending hate purely because they feel like it. Sending hate is never acceptable. Yet, we've heard so many stories about what happens as a result and people refuse to stop. So, instead of trying to stop these people from sending it, since it has been tried countless times, we need to stop listening to it. (We also need a better regulation of the Anon system on Tumblr by the staff, but that's another thing).
So here are some positive messages: We've most likely never met, spoken, or had any interaction, but you guys read my blog. You read my ramblings about the TV shows I watch, the other posts I write, as well. I want you to know that you are all amazing human beings. Your life has meaning and purpose. Never doubt that. You are all unique people, each with your own special quirks and skills. Do what makes you happy in life. Be happy.
And above all, don't listen to the hate.
